WE BE BACK!
Been through several phases in the last month, ranging from frantically busy to frankly uninspired, but have recently been reminded that people do actually read this blog. haha. So here's the update. August in summary: Began the month trying to get some work in order - the annual National Day supplement. Again. Was an interesting project though, and both Pete and I were involved, which means that for the very first time in our entire dang relationship, we were actually both doing not just the same workweek (monday to friday), but also the same shift.. Pete did a fabulous job on the design though, I must say, especially the icons, and both Titus and Divya made it in there. Click on EXTRAS to read Divya's beautifully written piece about her favourite teacher.... Being the patriotic souls that we are, we took the first flight we could find out of here on National Day, and flew off to Saigon for a short break. It was phenomenal even if I did slow everyone down and we were limited in terms of what we could do coz of the crutches. The food was absolutely amazing and we had some of the most wonderful meals I think we have ever eaten.... The shopping was brilliant, and Pete even designed me an ao dai, which I got made.... My only complaint - I think it was too short, sigh, but vacations always are huh? We're definitely going back, and for longer the next time. In any case, will not go into details, but promise to write a looooong blog post with pictures tonight. Then it was back to work and non-stop guests. Cass and Guy stopped by for a week and a half, and then The Watson showed up Friday, and on Sunday, Pete's sister Gwen, her husband Andy and their son Lorcan arrived for three weeks. Full house and I know it'll be busy, but I love houseguests so I can't complain, and its nice having family around. Have started trying to get around without depending on a crutch and its taking some getting use to but I am determined to remind my foot how to work.... I really hope it has healed well because I wanna start running again and do the 10km for the Standard Chartered marathon . In any case, even if I can't run it, I don't mind walking it. One of those things... Okays, need to get back to work but promise I will update on Vietnam tonight. XXX |
