HAPPY NEW YEAR...
Sorry for the late best wishes for 2008.... We hope all your dreams for the year ahead come true. It's been a bit of a strange start to the year for us. After what I unofficially dubbed a somewhat unauspicious 2007, I got the final prod from Lady Luck on New Year's Eve, when I not only managed to cut myself by accident, but I started feeling the beginnings of a cold. Despite my hopes to give Pete a wonderful countdown and a great start to the year, by New Year's morning - actually, a couple of strokes before midnight - I had come down with the full blown flu, and he started the year playing nurse. Pampered as I felt, it was nothing like the start to 2008 I had imagined. Poor guy. Ah well (at the risk of tempting fate), the year could only get better from here... We both have big dreams for the year ahead, and I really hope they will materialise. We know we'll be working hard towards that. As usual, I have made several resolutions, and I really hope to keep them up. For my New Year's wish, I hope everyone out there puts in a prayer and a vote of support for Pete, who's relaunching yet another newspaper - his third since coming to Singapore, which is really amazing. This time, its not even in his lingua franca... Watch this space for more details. It means long hours and pretty intense work for now, but we're all rooting for ya, Pete :) Okay, so, taking the cue from Gnatweds, here are some highlights from our 2007: From Pete: * Getting promoted to Art Director (yay!) * Getting his hands on not just the Canon 30D, but the Ricoh GR as well * Art coming back safe from Bali (scoring points here hehe) * Getting out on the lake, and teaching Art to fly-fish * Dune-bashing for his birthday in Dubai * Mastering poached eggs (Art's vouching for this one!) From Art: * All of Mum's ops going well. While her arm's in a wee sling to minimise movement, her spirits are way up * Finally getting the house done up nicely with a whoopass teak dining table * Getting my first Handycam (Pete's Xmas pressie), after, what, three years of hinting? * Getting a foothold on big changes in my beat at work, or as much of a foothold as one can get in that short period of time; and getting a change to be in Bali, which as fantastic as it was tiring * Seeing Galway, and seeing Eoin and Hilary get hitched Wish I could go on further, but I'm really drugged out by the virtual pharmacy I have to pump into myself so I can start 2008 proper. Will write more soon. The update on Xmas (which went well, btw, everyone loved their pressies and dinners) will come soon, I promise. Hugs and kisses, and our best wishes for 2008, TW |
